Man Allegedly Stabbed Atlantic City Store Clerk During Robbery: Police

A 42-year-old man from Ventnor City was arrested for armed robbery after stealing from a store and stabbing an employee, authorities said.

At 8:48 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, Atlantic City Police Officers Moustafa Maarouf and James Eckert were called to a convenience store in the 400 block of north Tennessee Avenue for a stabbing. 

Police were flagged down by several witnesses reporting there was a disturbance inside the store. 

Police entered the store and saw a suspect, Jason Hill, being held down by two store employees, they said.

The officers learned that Hill attempted to steal an item when he was confronted by an employee, they said. A physical confrontation ensued and Hill allegedly stabbed the employee with a knife, police said.

Hill was taken into custody without incident. The employee was taken by ambulance to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of his injuries which were not considered life-threatening, police said.

Hill was charged with robbery, aggravated assault, and weapons offenses, police said.

Hill was being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
